Focus time, with someone in your corner.

BlockTheWeb blocks distracting websites in Chrome on your Mac during the hours you choose. When you really need a blocked site, you ask your accountability partner. They decide.

How it works

  1. Set your rules. In the Mac app, choose your focus schedule and the sites you always allow.
  2. Chrome follows them. During focus time, the BlockTheWeb extension blocks every other site, in regular and Incognito windows. It keeps blocking when the Mac app is closed.
  3. Ask, do not bypass. A blocked page lets you request 5, 15, 30, or 60 minutes. Your partner approves or denies the request in the BlockTheWeb web app. An approval ends at a fixed time.
  4. Your partner stays informed. If someone removes the extension, turns it off, weakens the rules, or the Mac stops checking in, your partner gets an alert.

Your browsing stays on your Mac

The extension checks the name of each site against your rules on your own computer. It does not read pages, and it does not upload your browsing. Your partner sees protection alerts and the sites you ask to unblock, nothing else. Read the privacy policy for the details.
